Printer started to print erratically. Some Word documents do not print at all. Some word docs prints 3 or 4 lines, skips 2 or 3 lines, prints 2 or 3 lines. PDF documents print the full page but parts of the document info is missing. I am able to print scanned documents (PDF format). Is printing blank PDF forms but once they are filled out it prints with sections missing (see photos attached). I have uninstalled & reinstalled the printer, downloaded the latest driver, done a power reset and printed several test pages (see copies attached). Any ideas on what to try next?

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
I understand that you are having problems printing Word and PDF documents.
I'll try my best to help you out.
I suggest we start with a Printer Reset
(1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.
(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.
(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.
(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Then uninstall the Printer driver from Root level
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
6.) Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the “Drivers” tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
Restart your computer and reinstall the printer using Windows Built-In drivers.
Please refer to this Video: https://hp.care/2EhApe1 for more details on how to install the printer using Windows Built-In drivers.

Thanks for keeping me posted.
I suggest you remove the cartridges, clean the contacts with a Lint-Free cloth and reinstall them firmly.
Then Re-Align the printer using the printer control panel
-
Touch Setup on the printer control panel.
-
Touch Tools, and then touch Align Printer.
The printer calibrates, aligns the printhead, and then prints an alignment page. A success or failure message displays.
If the alignment was successful, examine the alignment page. The alignment page should have both black and color print areas, and the print areas should be sharp and clear, with no fading or streaking
Figure : Example of a good alignment page
-
If the alignment page is streaked, faded, or missing colors, continue to the next solution.
Figure : Example of faded alignment pages that are missing colors
You can also try cleaning the Printhead and Re-align the Printer
-
Touch Setup on the printer control panel.
-
Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Printhead.
Next Re-align the Printhead
-
Touch Setup on the printer control panel.
-
Touch Tools, and then touch Align Printer.
Keep me posted if the issue persists
Thank you 🙂

I followed your instructions and try to align the printer. It came up with an error:
FAILURE
Print cartridge alignment failed. See the product documentation for details.
This is what it printed:
Alignment page
As you can see, the top part of the printed page is blank so I can't read the product documentation details.
Printer is working the same.

I reviewed the post.It is great to hear from you again. Thanks for the response. You've amazingly well by displaying superb technical expertise and remarkable patience to try and resolve the issue. Kudos to you for that.:) As @KrazyToad is out for the day, I am responding on his behalf.
The printer has a hardware issue as the alignment is not working correctly. It needs to be replaced by contacting Hp phone support. I am being honest about it without beating around the bush by keeping your best interest in mind.
HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://h22207.www2.hp.com/us-en/?openCLC=true
- Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.
- Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.
- Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.
- Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
They will be happy to assist you immediately.
If the unit is under warranty, the manufacturer’s warranty should take care of it for you.
Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes. To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Thank you for your help DavisSMP!
It sounds like my printer needs to be replaced. I was hoping it could be repaired... (My printer is almost 10 years old)
I have attempted to find the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with my contact information but I have had no luck finding it (it seems like the pages are geared to warranty service).
Do you have any short cut that will take me to this page? I tried to find a HP phone support number but can't find it either...
I am trying to find out if my printer can be repaired or not.
Thank you again for your help!
