It seems I have exhausted all the resources I have access to, outside of modifying the port or motherboard.

In my family we all know a ton about computers and use the h*** out of them. We all game, video/photo edit, recommend tech and/or help fix their computers. We all got our Laptops for about the same prices $800-&1000 each having dedicated gpus.

My brother got a shiny DELL laptop that let him set a specific functions to keep his lithium-ions at peak performance with the least bit of decay. Later I set up the same system in my mother's ASUS flip book to do the same. But can my hp? no.

After my first battery BLOATED so much it broke the snaps near my front screws I bought a replacement and decided to check for software, bios updates or ANYTHING to prevent this from happening again. Guess what I found out?! HP hates their customers 😄

To quote Banhien 'HP does have Battery Health Manager software but only for Business machines' '

For normal machines, please use link

The above link leads you to a fourm that basically says "you get bare minimum 'performance' or 'power save' mode" and "Our intentionally planned obsolescence battery can nearly explode on you, but its safe and if you kept up your warranty we will replace it "free***" of charge! only costs you 1-2weeks without a computer!" (what they don't mention is a one year warranty they wanted to quote me for was $120. I can buy nearly 4 batteries for that price... so lower your g** d*mned warranty price you gold diggers)

Due to research done while my battery was on its last legs I found the HUGE sin that not even Nintendo DS had in 2004! Even while plugged in my laptop was pulling from a 100% charged battery and would shut my computer off due to not enough power! This seems to suggest that it never stops pulling from the battery, creating the IDEAL CONDITIONS FOR MAXIMUM BATTERY DAMAGE!!! Even when the battery was charged and hooked up to the charger it seemed to suck all operating voltage from the battery. A better practice would be for all the power to come from the charge port and the battery disconnected on standby when fully charged. The Best practice for battery health is to disconnect and standby the battery at 80% while the charger for long periods of time, like when a user boots up the gpu for game mode.

What I don't understand is that the laptop I bought specs wise; was a higher then average, light gaming/workbook machine. and HP is treating it like a 2005 throwaway in a year crappy phone. The attitude so far has been "Any complaints are to simply be ignored, they are normy consumers and have no valid insights or criticisms."

What are the consequences! Due to this nightmare you certainly lost me as a customer, in fact I have actively recommended staying away from ANY of HP workbooks/ultrabooks. In the future (unless your brown nosing shareholder licking corporate leaders get their act together and make an exceptional things instead of self destructing meh things) I doubt I will even consider another hp laptop or omen, victus, or pavilion machines, lest they get somehow labeled a 'consumer product.'

Honestly I feel bad for any of your shareholders, when customers find out they are being gypped... vengeance is swift and prolific

What I want to see! I want a bios update for ALL 'consumer' grade laptops that handles batteries properly! It AT LEAST disconnects and standbys the battery when fully charged AND has the option to disconnect and standby the battery at 80%

Also if you want people to take your warranty seriously, maybe make it worth buying 😉

(and not by sabotaging your own product)
