while resetting my PC, after preparing for reset, it says there was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made and then restarted and back to home without any reset

If you're encountering problems while attempting to reset your Windows 11 PC, here are some steps that might help resolve the issue:

 

Check for System Updates:

  • Sometimes system updates can resolve underlying reset issues. Go to Settings > Windows Update to ensure your PC is up to date.

 

Run Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Run the "Windows Update troubleshooter" and "System Maintenance troubleshooter" to find and fix potential issues.

 

Perform a Startup Repair:

  • Restart your PC.
  • As your PC restarts, press F8 continuously to access the Advanced Startup Options menu. (The key combination may vary depending on your device.)
  • Select "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Startup Repair" to see if Windows can fix any startup-related issues.

 

Use the Command Prompt:

  • Open a Command Prompt as an administrator.
  • Execute the following command: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  • Once completed, run: sfc /scannow
  • These commands will repair system images and fix corrupted system files that may be causing the issue.

 

Disable Additional Software:

  • Temporarily disable any third-party antivirus or security software as they might interfere with system operations including reset processes.

 

Try Resetting from Safe Mode:

  • Boot your PC into Safe Mode.
  • Visit Settings > Update & Security > Recovery, and try resetting from Safe Mode.

 

Use Windows Recovery Environment:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery.
  • Click on "Restart now" under "Advanced startup".
  • After the PC restarts, choose "Troubleshoot" > "Reset this PC" in the recovery environment.

 

Create a New User Account:

  • Create a new local user account with administrator privileges.
  • Log in to the new account and attempt the reset operation.

 

If none of the above solutions work, consider using recovery media to reinstall Windows 11. Remember to back up important data before doing a system reinstall.
