Evening!
I have attempted to update to Windows 10 today as it keeps popping up on the screen, however when I do this it states it needs 8GB of disc space, so I tried deleting some files, etc. I have even purchased a SD micro card as someone said this should work for extra memory?
Anyways, the Stream has now crashed - I have tried F11 with every option on there;
Reset laptop to factory setting - fails after 54%
Reset and keep files - fails after 37%
System restore - stream is stating there is no previous point to restore too
Turn off - switch on still going on a loop of black screen and HP logo
I have tried running diagonstics which have all come back fine
I have used every option available to me in F11 with no luck, this stream has my dissertation on it which is due mid May, is there anyway anyone can help me? I no longer have any warranty either.
I have even tried downloading the media creation tool from my parents main PC onto a USB stick and plugged it into the stream (no idea what this is but tried it) however it has failed.
I can redo my dissertation but I need this laptop in order to to do it, im devastated. Is there anyone willing to help me?
Thanks in advance.

Awesome. If you ever have to do this again, you will know to do a custom and clear the drive, then install.
Let me know if you need further assistance.

"tried downloading the media creation tool from my parents main PC onto a USB stick and plugged it into the stream (no idea what this is but tried it) however it has failed."
The USB Media is for clean installing Windows 10 onto a PC.
Exactly in what way did it fail?
Be more specific as to the steps you took to give us a better idea of how its not working?

I said both failed....i didnt think i set it up correctly, i just moved the file to USB and put it straight in laptop, but didnt work. downloaded again and set it up before putting it into USB seems to be installing windows 10...'installing windows' copying windows files...etc.
Not sure if what I'm doing is correct, or if this laptop will just be broken now 😞

Im just trying to figure out what you did wrong. Simply saying they both failed tells me nothing.
Instructions (short version)...
Install the media creation tool onto a windows 8 or 10 PC (your parents PC) that has UEFI bios enabled (not Legacy mode).
Then create the USB media. You want Windows 10 Home 64bit if it asks.
Then insert that newly created USB to your Stream Tablet. Do not have any other drives connected (ie: SD card).
Turn on the tablet and rapidly tap the F9 key to access the Boot Options.
Choose the USB drive.
Follow the prompts.
When it asks, choose to do a Custom installation.
Delete all the partitions on Disk 0.
Then continue with the installation.

Yes I think I accepted 64bit
I went F11 and accepted USB from there, is this the same thing?
Yes I chose custom as the other would not work
Didnt go the delete thing ah maaannnnnn! Would I need to start again?
How long does this roughly take?
And now I have an SD card to put in will this make the stream go any faste with more memory or does it need to be internal?
Sorry I'm not great with things like this!

If it worked, then its ok.

You dont have to if it works, BUT Its needed for the puny little 32 GB EMMc drive it uses to free up space and ensure the installation goes smoothly. I would do it, if it were me.
The process does not take that long since its the latest version of Win 10. Not much updating to do afterward.

Is there anyway I can delete these files once install is complete?
It's stating 'starting services' and now 'getting ready' fingers crossed this works!
Thanks for your help so far, Currys KnowHow were no help at all. I have cancelled my plan with them.
