Hi all. I deleted Windows partitions and installed another version (ltsc), but now recovery via f11 does not work. Can you tell me how to bind the recovery partition (I did not delete it) to f11 and recover the OS from it? Also, how do I know what version of Windows was originally installed on my laptop?

Hi:

You can use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with the notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.

Since you have to use another PC to create the bootable recovery media, you will need to enter the notebook's full product number in the tool's search window, which is:  2GF88EA#ACB

Can't I use a larger drive? It doesn't see 128 GB, I've tried it on two PCs

I bought a flash drive, it's very strange, but it didn't run on 128GB. Question, why do the fn+ keys not work, zero reaction when pressed

HP Recommended

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know why the FN + keys won't work.

In any event you don't need them to boot from the USB flash drive.

You need to first press/tap the ESC key when you first turn on the PC to get the menu of options and then press the F9 key to get the boot options menu, and then you should be able to boot from the USB recovery drive.

I have only used the prescribed 32 GB USB flash drives to create the recovery media with the cloud recovery tool, but I don't know why a 128 GB USB flash drive wouldn't have worked as well.

Thank you. It all worked out yesterday. The fn keys work in a strange way, without fn pressed the additional functions of the keys are triggered, and the normal ones via fn

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.
