Hello, I recently bought an HP Laptop 15-bs0xx, and when I had used it for about a week I noticed that sometimes it would have the screen jump a bit and horizontal lines of black and white appear over the screen, then they would disappear and everything would be fine. I ignored them for a while, but since it seems to be happening a bit more, I thought I would go to the forums to see if you guys had any tips to help me with my problem, or if I needed it to be replaced. I do not believe that I have had any recent software of driver changes because as I said, it only started happening a week after I had bought it. If you need any other information, I would be happy to provide it. Thanks!

Let me take a moment to thank you for posting on the HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP Notebook15-bs0xx. I read that there are display issues. The display flickers and lines appear. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.
I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:
- Power off the laptop.
- Remove the battery out. If the battery is integrated and does not have a latch to release it then leave the battery inside the laptop.
- Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.
- Power ON the laptop.
Please test the display in BIOS. The following steps will help:
- Shutdown the laptop.
- Power on the laptop and hit the f10 key repeatedly (7-8 times). This will load the BIOS.
- Let the laptop remain in BIOS and you may observe the display.
- If the display flickers or has lines then it confirms a hardware issue. In such a case you may contact our HP phone support to check the available hardware service options.
You may also run a hardware test on the video by following the below steps:
-
Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
-
Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second.
-
The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu is displayed.
- Select component tests.
- Please initiate a Video - This test includes 3 tests of the video hardware on your computer. Select one of the following tests, then click Run Once.
-
Video Memory Fast Check - 3 minute video memory test
-
Video Memory Check - 20 minute memory test
-
Palette Check - 1 minute test of the three video color components. Follow the on-screen instructions during the test.
I sincerely hope this information helps. Let me know the outcome. Cheers!

Thank you for responding to me!
I did all of the steps you asked me to, and when I did the BIOS I waited there for 15 minutes, and for the UEFI it said that I passed them all. I haven't gotten another display flicker yet, but I will tell you if I do, thanks!
