Well, this is a long reading but if you want, here is some background

DWS is free open-source utility - it can destroy Windows 10 "spying" - can block some of the anonymous data being sent to Microsoft, it can remove some apps and more. Video tutorial available >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VgfEmCvaH0
Also, user selected - it can delete some of the Windows default programs or features that are not removable under Apps & Features

Basically, some of these telemetry services in Win 10 may be resourse intensive along with Windows 10 Automatic updates which cannot be stopped just like that and by default.
If you recently install Windows, your PC may be outdated and lots of updates may be pending installation.
Another reason for the freezing may be drivers issue.

This is the old version (now). If you recently installed Windows 10, there may be lots of updates pending to install, trying to download and install since March/April 2018 [when build 1803 was released]. Windows 10 automatic updates run in the background and may be resource intensive.
** By the way, Windows 10 1809 upgrade has just been released
If you believe you are good for the upgrade,I'd suggest you uninstall any security products before upgrading.

Regarding the memory; it's recommended that you upgrade the memory modules in pairs of the same type, size, speed rating, manufacture, etc. Otherwise you may experience crashes due to module differences. That why many memory upgrade kits come with two modules. I would recommend replacing the factory installed module with the exact one that you installed a couple months ago.
