Sorry to jump on this but I'm having a similar problem. The difference is that I cannot find a working W10 x64 driver for the 8560w. W10 installed and all drivers now happy with the exception of the fingerprint scanner. I identified it by the hardware ID.

Can anyone point me in the direction of a driver that will work? Some forums I've read point towards a driver on Lenovos support page but it must be a different hardware revision as it wouldnt install.

Thanks for the reply but unfortunately that one didnt work either. I think its a problem with the revision. The hardware ID on the 8560w is USB\VID_138A&PID_003C so the 003c revision?

The one you posted seems to be 0018?

Thanks, it did actually work when I browsed the softpaq folder for the 003c driver rather than just running the setup. Thanks for your help!

You're very welcome.

That would have been my next suggestion.

That driver file contains the drivers for every Validity sensor hardware ID HP used in about a 3 year period plus or minus from your notebook's manufacturing date.

So, I knew it would have to work one way or the other.

Note:  If you want to use the fingerprint sensor, you will need to install the W10 HP Client Security Manager software, which superceded the HP ProtectTools software.

Thanks Paul, I already had that before I got the driver installed but I'm still having an issue. One that I've seen others with. Now when I open the HP Client Security program and try to enroll a fingerprint it tells me that "the fingerprint reader is not connected, connect the reader".

The device appears in device manager and appears to be installed correctly.

Sorry that you are unable to get the fingerprint sensor to work with the client security manager software.

Unfortunately, I don't have any suggestions for you to fix that issue.
