Hello, I'm hoping you can help me as well! I have an HP envy touchsmart 17-j157cl notebook PC that keeps asking for an admin password for my BIOS (which I don't ever remember setting) and I need to get virtualization activated through bios for hyper-v to work.. needless to say frustrating! This is the lockout code I keep getting after 3 failed attempts
[ i 67239936 ] ..Not sure what the deal is with the 'i'

I tried bios-pw.org to no avail..

..Here's hoping

Hi @sidgrafix,

Welcome to the HP Forums 🙂

I would like to take a moment and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

As I understand there is a message - "system disabled" on your screen and you need assistance with the same,

You would have to contact HP phone support for a hardware service as the motherboard may require a tattoo/Bios Flash.

Any other way of unlocking the BIOS is not authorized by HP.

Keep me posted,

If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,

Followed by clicking on "Accept as solution" from the drop-down menu on the upper right corner,

Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum. Have a great day!

Tried that.. that was the number bios-pw provided when I input the lockout code without the i..

Appreciate the effort @REO51ST, but that isn't working and still getting same lockout.. [ i 67239936 ]

Guess I have to call support 😞

Turns out simplest solution is to pull the CMOS battery and then fire up the laptop plugged into AC (without laptop battery in either).. Minor surgery but have virtualization active for my project needs and no more admin password for bios 🙂
