Hi, I'm having a similar issue  on my Pavilion 17t-ab000 CT0 on WIn 7; where the Universal Serial Bus (USB) controller is showing as an unknown device. I tried using the driver you linked to, and I installed it, but nothing appeared to change, and the HOst Utility Controller application that it instialled when launched said "USB 3.0Host Controller not found".

Hardware Ids of the USB controller:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A12F&SUBSYS_820F103C&REV_31
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A12F&SUBSYS_820F103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A12F&CC_0C0330
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_A12F&CC_0C03

Hi:

Use the usb driver directly from Intel.

Download, unzip and run the setup application from the driver at the link below...

Thank you, that appears to have worked, the USB controller (and USB ports) are working no w.

I was hoping that doing this would allow windows to automatically find the dirvers for the previously not functioning devices (like it did for the bluetooth radio) but not all of the devices are working. The ones that still don't have drivers are:

Network controller; hardware IDs:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_095A&SUBSYS_50108086&REV_61
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_095A&SUBSYS_50108086
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_095A&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_095A&CC_0280

PCI data aquisition and signal processing controller; hardware IDs:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1903&SUBSYS_820F103C&REV_07
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1903&SUBSYS_820F103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1903&CC_118000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1903&CC_1180

PCI Device; Hardware IDs:

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_522A&SUBSYS_820F103C&REV_01
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_522A&SUBSYS_820F103C
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_522A&CC_FF0000
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_522A&CC_FF00

And two unknown devices, hardware IDs (respectively)

ACPI\HPQ6007
*HPQ6007

(This one might be the drive guard mentioned in the post I replied to)

and

ACPI\INT3400
*INT3400

You're very welcome.

You need these drivers for the ID's you posted...

Network controller:

This package contains drivers for the Intel Wireless LAN adapter in supported models running a supported operating system.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78001-78500/sp78136.exe

Bluetooth:

This package contains the driver installation package for the Intel Bluetooth in the supported notebook models running a supported operating systems.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp77001-77500/sp77324.exe

PCI data aquisition and signal processing controller: & ACPI\INT3400:

This package contains the driver that enables the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework firmware. Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework provide system temperature and power utilization information for the system thermal protection to function properly. This package is provided for supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp75501-76000/sp75506.exe

PCI Device:

The Realtek USB and PCIe Media Card Reader Drivers enable the integrated media card slot in supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp79501-80000/sp79524.exe

ACPI\HPQ6007:

Receives notifications from the integrated accelerometer and automatically parks the hard drive to reduce the risk of damage if the PC is accidentally dropped.

Thank you, that's cleared up those excess devices.

Last question: My trackpad is not doing the things that other HP trackpads have done for me in the past (Ie two finger scroll); is that because I'm missing a specific driver for it? If so, could you tell me how to get it?

Also, the USB host driver is giving me a request to run it every time the computer boots up. Should this be happening?

Hi:

Did you install the W7 touchpad driver from your notebook's support page?

That would be the only suggestion I can offer.

As for the other issue, try re-installing the USB driver I posted, and see if that works.

HP Recommended

It says that the touchpad is an "Unauthenticated touchpad", which is why it is not working.

The hardware IDs for it are:

ACPI\SYN3227
*SYN3227

While I was trying to get my graphics drivers updated, somethign went wrong, and now one of my PCI devices isn't working correctly (and my computer can't detect my graphics card). Windows update seems to think the driver is up to date despite reporting the driver as nonfuctional. Can you help?

Hardware ID for the broken PCI device:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1901&SUBSYS_820F103C&REV_07
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1901&SUBSYS_820F103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1901&CC_060400
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1901&CC_0604

Unfortunately, I won't be able to help you with either of those issues.

The hardware ID you posted seems to be part of the motherboard chipset, so you may want to install the latest chipset driver directly from Intel.  The 2nd file down on the left side of the page is for 64 bit.
