My laptop: Hp envy x360 - 15m-cn0012dx
I have 1 SSD (256 GB). It has "C" partition where the windows 10 is installed. Also, it has "D" partition with the name "RECOVERY"
I want to install Linux on my laptop, delete windows 10 and leave "D" partition untouched.
My question is: After installing Linux If I want to reinstall windows 10, can I accomplish this task with that Recovery "D" partition and without any USB or CD/DVD drive?

Hi,
It is possible, however, the best idea would be to remove the recovery partition and delete all partitions on the hard drive when installing LINUX.
You can always go back to Windows by creating a USB drive with Windows 10 on it from Microsoft
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
No need for productkey as it is in the firmware. This will also be the latest version of Windows 10 which the recovery partition will not be.
You can also use HP cloud recovery
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06162205
So, basically, you do not need the recovery partition and even if you ever need to install Windows 10 again, the recovery partition is not the best solution.
Hope it helps,
David

Thank you very much for your reply. At the moment I can not afford USB drive with big amount of space.
I want to clarify one thing. In case I want to recover windows 10 from Linux with recovery partition, I should :
1) Press esc every second (to open Startup Menu) while laptop is turning on
2) Press f12 to choose System recovery
3) Continue recovery process
Am I correct?
