Hi

Gparted may be a solution.

However if you use the PC and overwrite anything then recovery will be unlikely.

https://linuxmint.com/    Download and make a DVD/USB.   Boot from it and it does not install, only runs in RAM.

A little slow perhaps, but this is what you get...

LinuxMintGparted.jpg RECOVER.

Also you should be able to get recovery media by

From 2016 onwards there is a possible recovery option via the cloud...

If in doubt please ask.

@Yogie_Atmodjo

From your remarks, my guess is that what you want to do is recover the files and folders in the lost partition, right?

One way that @Lil_Boy_Blue has mentioned is to see if you can recovery the partition.

If that does not work, then you need to do the following:
1) Download and install this utility  http://www.majorgeeks.com/news/story/recover_data_in_3_steps_with_minitool_power_data_recovery_free_...
2) Run the data recovery utility to see what can be retrieved from the old drive.

If that tool does not find what you need, an alternative is Recuva http://www.piriform.com/recuva

And, if that does not work well, the best tool out there is this one, but only the trial version is free http://www.file-recovery.com/

Hi

The problem is space and not overwriting anything you want to recover.

You can try gparted directly, or via a Linx like Lubuntu or MINT.

GParted is a free partition editor for graphically managing your disk partitions.
With GParted you can resize, copy, and move partitions without data loss, enabling you to:

  • Attempt data rescue from lost partitions

So you download an .iso and create a bootable DVD/USB, I use Anyburn but Rufus will probably also work.

ESC and F9 select the DVD/USB and give it 4 - 5 minutes to finish.

Then you get a GUI not too different to W10.  Try Gparted.

So yes you understand the process.
