Situation is that a BIOS update failed at 15%, where it remained overnight. Of course, the laptop would not boot once it had been powered off. The blink code 2.2 (blink), meaning the main area (DXE) of BIOS has become corrupted, and there is no recovery binary image available. (Also happens when updating the BIOS.). Troubleshooting: Perform BIOS recovery with external media (USB or CD-ROM). Go to HP Notebook PCs - Recovering the BIOS for additional information.
I followed recovery instructions but the laptop screen remained blank and caps lock blinks continued irrespective of method I follow. Just wondered if there is any trick to getting this particular laptop model to start USB recovery since the laptop doesn't give any indication of anything happening. Do you need to press keyboard combinations for longer time than suggest or something like that?
Any suggestions before I contact suport?
