finally progress!

I was able to get the PC to boot from the USB drive. After you mentioned the USB2 ports led me to look at this configuration. This PC has all USB3 ports; neither are the typical blue color code (perhaps pre-color coding), but in small letter next to each port is the SS symbol.

In Bios there is a setting in System Configuration called "USB3.0 Configuration in Pre-OS".

This was set to Enable USB3, but should have been set to Auto for USB2.0 enabled for pre boot.

So I got Win 10 loaded last night and now rebuilding the drivers, and adding programs.

 

I was thinking that this probably would have worked with the original hard drive if I had changed this USB setting in Bios.

I still might try this.

I guess yours was one of those few models where it had that BIOS setting.

 

As newer models came out, the ones with only USB 3 ports, that auto setting was removed.

 

You still have a hard drive issue with those codes, and a SSD will be a nice improvement, if all devices work your current reinstall.
