Hi @Ashwin_97,

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand you are having issues with the laptop is not going into sleep mode. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Did this happen after a recent update or upgrade?

Have you tried to install the drivers either from Windows update or HP Support Assistant?

Did you try to update the Bios?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard reset on the notebook: A power reset (or hard restart) clears all information from the computer's memory without erasing any personal data. Performing a power reset might fix conditions such as Windows not responding, a blank display, software freezing, keyboard stops responding, or other external devices locking up.

Here’s a related HP Forums post that seems to have helped others: Click here

For step by step guidance:

  • The computer does not go into sleep or hibernate mode

  • Disabling the password requirement when resuming from sleep

That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Good Luck.

Thank you for your concern.
Actually, I solved my brightness issue.
I used a Intel graphics card driver, but now my major problem is charging.
My laptop is not charging continuously.

It is charging for a minute or half and then it stops for few seconds and again charging for a minute or half and stops for few seconds and so on.

Pls suggest a suitable solution for this.
My sleep mode and brightness issues are solved.

Hi @Ashwin_97,

Thanks for the update,

I really appreciate your time and efforts,

I'm glad to hear that you found the solution you were looking for, however, you are now having an issue with the laptop does not charge properly. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.

Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.

Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.

Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager,

Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

I would suggest please update the BIOS on your PC and check if it helps.

Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.

Refer this link to know how to use HP support assistant.

Next thing, I would suggest here is to run the test on the battery from F2.(Click on Component test - Scroll down to Power)

Let me know how it goes for further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help.
