HP Pavilion 15 notebook

My aunt gave me a pavilion 15 notebook and so i only have the the notebook and its charger. I went to factory reset it and the power cable had pulled out, so the laptop went dead during the factory reset. Now it wants me to reinstall the windows operating system. I also tried to get the automatic repair to start but its not starting up either.   My question is, is there a way to do this without a usb drive/disk?and if so how? Everything is closed due to the virus so i cant take it anywhere to be fixed. I would appreciate it

Hi:

What operating system did it come with?

Here is how you can clean install W10...

You can do that for free by making bootable installation media using the media creation tool at the link below.

You will need to have access to another working Windows PC, and an 8 GB USB flash drive.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

Then you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.

I dont have a usb drive at the moment.. Could an external hard drive work instead of a usb flash drive??

You can try it but I don't know if it will work.

What I do know is that the tool will format the entire drive, so you can't have anything on it that you don't care to lose.
