Hi @eac707,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The HP Victus 15-fb0028nr, which features an AMD Ryzen 7 5800H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card, may require a TPM firmware update if it is reporting an AMD TPM Manufacturer Version starting with 3.*.0. This is in accordance with AMD's official bulletin (PA-420), which addresses TPM firmware updates to ensure system stability.

Steps to Update BIOS and TPM Firmware:

Visit HP's Official Driver Site:

Identify Your Device:

  • Enter your serial number, product number, or product name ("HP Victus 15-fb0028nr").

Choose Your Operating System:

  • Select the correct OS that your device is currently running.

Download BIOS-Firmware Update:

  • Navigate to the "BIOS - Firmware" section.
  • Select and download the latest version that meets the minimum BIOS requirements needed to resolve this issue.

Follow On-Screen Instructions:

  • Complete the installation process by following the on-screen instructions.
  • A system restart may be required after updating the BIOS.

TPM Initialization Process:

  • After the BIOS update, a message will be displayed as part of the TPM initialization process. Follow any additional instructions that may appear.

Reset Windows PIN (if needed):

BitLocker Recovery Key:

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hello Jerry,

Thank you for the clarification.

I would like to further elaborate to ensure we are aligned on the specific issue I am referencing.

My understanding is based on the official Activision / AMD TPM guidance, which states:

If the TPM Manufacturer Version is AMD 3..0., where * represents any number, the motherboard requires a firmware update.

Example:
• AMD 3.92.0.5 → Requires firmware update
• AMD 3.92.5.5 → OK

Source: https://support.activision.com/articles/trusted-platform-module-and-secure-boot#BiosFirmwareGuidance

In my case, even after installing the latest available HP BIOS, my system reports:

  • Device: HP Victus 15-fb0028nr

  • BIOS Version: AMI F.24 (09/04/2025)

  • TPM Manufacturer Version: AMD 3.39.0.5

Since 3.39.0.5 still falls under the AMD 3.*.0.* category described above, I would like to confirm the following points:

  1. Does BIOS F.24 include the corrected AMD TPM firmware that resolves the issue described in AMD PA-420 and the Activision guidance, even though the TPM version still reports 3.39.0.5?

  2. If BIOS F.24 does not include an updated TPM firmware, is there a newer BIOS or TPM firmware update planned for the HP Victus 15-fb0028nr?

  3. Can you confirm whether TPM version 3.39.0.5 is considered fully compliant and stable by HP, despite being listed under the “requires firmware update” category in the Activision/AMD documentation?

My goal is simply to verify whether my system already contains the intended TPM fix, or if no newer TPM firmware has been released yet for this model.

Thank you for your time and clarification.

Kind regards,
Eric

Hi @eac707,

Thank you for the in-depth information you shared.

We checked and found that the BIOS driver version is F.24 Rev.A. This supports the TPM.

Hello Jerry,

Thank you for the response.

I understand that BIOS F.24 Rev.A supports TPM functionality. However, my question is not about whether TPM is supported or enabled, but specifically about TPM firmware revision and the AMD PA-420 guidance.

As previously stated, my system currently reports:

BIOS Version: F.24 Rev.A (latest available for motherboard 8A3C)

TPM Manufacturer Version: AMD 3.39.0.5

According to AMD and Activision guidance, AMD TPM versions in the 3.*.0.* range are documented as requiring a firmware update, whereas versions such as 3.92.5.5 are listed as corrected.

Given that BIOS F.24 is the latest release and the TPM version remains 3.39.0.5, I am requesting clarification on the following specific points:

  • 1. Does BIOS F.24 Rev.A include an updated AMD TPM firmware that resolves the PA-420 issue, even though the TPM version string still reports 3.39.0.5?
  • 2. If not, can HP confirm whether 3.39.0.5 is considered stable and compliant for this model despite falling under the 3.*.0.* category described in AMD/Activision documentation?
  • 3. If neither applies, is there any planned BIOS or TPM firmware update for the HP Victus 15-fb0028nr addressing this issue?

I would appreciate a technical confirmation rather than a general statement of TPM support, as my goal is to determine whether this system already contains the intended TPM firmware fix or if no such update has been released by HP.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Kind regards,
Eric
