Hi @Berto0351

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Restoring your HP Envy laptop using the Recovery D drive can occasionally lead to errors such as the "Restoration Incomplete" message.

Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:

Check Recovery Drive Space: Ensure that there is sufficient space available on the Recovery D drive. Sometimes, if the drive is too full, it might cause errors in the restoration process.

Run Diagnostics: Use the built-in HP diagnostics tool to check if there are any issues with the hard drive that may be affecting the restoration. You can access this tool by restarting the laptop and pressing the F2 key repeatedly until the HP Hardware Diagnostics screen appears.

Use HP Recovery Manager:

  • Restart your laptop and press F11 repeatedly until the HP Recovery Manager screen appears.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to attempt a system recovery. This tool is specifically designed to handle recovery and restoration processes.

Verify Recovery Media: If you have recovery discs or USB drives, ensure they are not damaged or corrupted. You might consider creating a new set of recovery media using another HP device if available.

Try Safe Mode: Boot the laptop in Safe Mode by restarting and pressing F8 as it starts up. From Safe Mode, try initiating the system restoration again.

Additional Considerations

  • If all else fails and you have important data to protect, consider backing it up using an external drive before attempting further restoration processes.
  • Ensure that there are no peripheral devices connected that might be interfering with the restoration process.

Thank you for your guidance. I tried all you mentioned. And it did not work. I still get to the page of Restoration  Incomplete. I do have a question. I’m giving up. I purchased a windows 10 pro download that I’m going to put on my usb drive and just res store it. I had nothing important. When I go to change boot drives, it does not mention boot from usb drive like it did in previous bios how do I boot from usb?
