HP 9461NGW
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm restoring windows 10 on a HP laptop 9461NGW, it gets to 64% and keeps rebooting, it does not go further. What Can I do?

I followed all instruction of how to restore windows 10 as per user IT_WinSec , the installation process does not go further than the 64% and it's being rebooting for a day or so

Hey @OSL1

Just noticed you have mentioned me in this post. Welcome officially to the HP Support Community.

  • The recovery process may fail due to
    - either a hardware issue (like faulty HDD)
    - or software issue (corrupted recovery partition/image)

The second is more likely in your scenario but all needs to be ruled out to be precise.

If you still face the issue and need assistance, please do this

  • Run a hardware diagnostics (Esc/F2) . Run a quick or fast check (if not available, test the hard disk drive and the memory). Let me know the results. Here is a video example >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JXUp43ahHA

  • If the tests pass successfully, then the recovery partition is corrupted. You will need to perform fresh clean vanilla installation. Attached below you can find a PDF file with the steps needed - follow them

Looking forward to your news/update/feedback
