The original SSD has died. Not seen at all by the BIOS now .. I have installed a new SSD, but is there an image that I can download and restore to the SSD that will get to the original state of the machine? (i.e. Windows, Drivers, MS Office etc) The 1TB drive in the machine seems to be ok.

You're very welcome, Pat.
I looked at the log, and there was a problem when the recovery media tried to reinstall the McAfee antivirus.

I have read other posts where some folks were able to get around that error by setting the date in the BIOS to the PC's 'Born on' date.
The reason being is because the software sees that the 30-day trial period for the software has expired based on today's date, and the installation fails.
So, that would be my recommendation to you...In the BIOS, there should be a 'Born on date' listed.
Set your PC to that date and run the recovery media again.

Hi:
You can use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook, although I am not sure about MS Office.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility. You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive.

Since you have to use the tool on another PC to create the installation media, you will need to enter your PC's product number i the tool's search window to create the recovery media.
Your PC's product number is: Z5D39EA#ABU

Hi Paul,
Thanks so much for this. I have tried it .. but no success. It gets all the way through (and I see a few Windows screens on the way) but in the end reports failed 😞 Have tried a couple of times.
Will try the Diagnostics again to see if they discover something, but I have a feeling they won’t! (Didn’t before)

Here is a link to the all of the log files .. I'm afraid I am not knowledgeable enough to figure out what is going on!

You're very welcome, Pat.
My fingers are crossed too.
If for some reason that didn't fix the problem, I believe your only recourse would be to clean install W10 by making a bootable USB installation flash drive with the Media creation tool from the link below.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

Anytime, Pat.
Glad to have been of assistance, and that is great news that setting the PC to its 'born on' date resolved the problem with the recovery media failing.
Cheers,
Paul
