@CJ2514, I broke my cardinal rule and didn't ask for the Product Number of your laptop when we first began this trek!  You can find the Product Number by opening HP Support Assistant and looking at the bottom of the page.  Once I have the PN I will try to help you find a battery.  I don't know if HP will still have it available.

@Old_geekster no worries, the product number is: 2FW61AV

@CJ2514, thank you for the PN.

Here are all of the components to your laptop on HP PartSurfer: https://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=2FW61AV

You will find the Part # in the section titled "Battery".  HP no longer has it available.  You will have to search for it online.  I am in the processor of searching for one for my wife's laptop.  Just be careful where you buy it.  There are some bad people selling bad products.

Good luck!

Hi again, Old_geekster, thanks again for your help and thanks for walking me through this process, I really appreciate it.

I think I found the correct battery, I'm going to crack my machine open before I order it so I can compare the batteries to make sure I found the right product.

How's this look to you? https://www.battery-vendor.com/hp-928372-855-battery-152000?source=ad

Also, I'll mark our thread as resolved but I may reach out in the future if I have more issues!

@CJ2514, I am not familiar with this seller.  I suggest that you do some research before ordering from them.  I will be here is you need further help.

@Old_geekster I guess I'm getting a little frustrated with the whole process. HP can't provide me with a replacement battery so I'm forced to trust shady retailers online. You have been a great help, HP has been a disappointment to say the least.

I fully understand your frustrations.  However, HP simply can't supply certain components due the their contracts.  As I stated earlier, I am in the same boat as you.  I am in the process of finding a battery for my wife's HP Spectre.  Not an easy job.

[for the picky, this might not be said quite right, but hopefully probably close enough so you can figure out what I meant.]

To increase battery longevity at expense of maximum battery time between charges, limit maximum battery charge. When you power on the computer keep pressing 'esc' until a menu shows up. Go to system setup. Find the setting to limit maximum battery charge, change it, then find and choose save changes and exit.

If your AC adapter is good, I bet this is a heat issue not a battery issue even if the battery is bad. I've seen people run laptops without batteries.

Try limiting framerate(frames per second(fps)) while reducing 'quality' settings. With most displays 60fps is a good limit setting. You could also try using v-sync. (note: for good v-sync, without stutter, your laptop's longest time between frames should be less than or equal to the time between display updates; e.g. on a 60Hz display, framerate is always >=60fps when v-sync/framerate limiter is disabled, and framerate = 60fps when v-sync/framerate limiter is enabled)
