Spectre 360

I purchased this laptop special order directly from HP for my husband because I absolutely love mine. Oddly, my husband opened up his laptop this evening and it won't power up or charge.  Thinking it was the power supply, we tested it with my power supply and nothing. I searched the forum and it looks like this may be a known issue with the mother board.  Is there a fix? Recall?

Firstly check the integrity of the battery. If the laptop comes with a removable battery, take it out, and hold the power button down for about 15 seconds to drain any residual power from the device. Then, with the battery still removed, plug in the power cable and turn the laptop on.

You might contact the HP support for help in case it is still in warranty.

Otherwise you can just try to troubleshoot and fix it by yourself.

Tested power supply on my other laptop and its fine.  Removed battery, drained residual power, plugged it in and it still won't power up.

From looking at a few other posts, this looks like I'm not alone in this issue and HP support representatives have reached out to the other users that posted on this issue.  I've tried to contact HP directly with no luck.  Any suggestions?

Sorry for the delay response.

Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service/replacement options for your laptop.

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

I'd like to introduce you a HP support here in case you have any other problems.

I've attempted to  reach out with no luck.  This is unacceptable.  I am requesting HP reach out to me directly.   I am a LOYAL HP customer and have never experienced such runaround !.  I order all my products, including my personal laptops DIRECTLY from HP.  In addition, I am a software trainer at a southern california university and my team uses HPs exclusively based on my recommendation  that they have proven to be the most stable in terms of processor performance, particularly during our demos.  I personally only use HPs because I have had only positive experiences up until this situation.  Here is a post from another user with exactly the same issue and he included MULTIPLE other posts from users with the same problem.   An HP rep responded that HP would be reaching out.   I  am puzzled as to why these gentlemen are receiving support and am getting the runaround.

My Spectre has completely died. It has worked perfectly fine for 2 years, but today it suddenly went black and shut off during use. It was plugged in and charging. Now, it will not turn on even when it's plugged in. The charging indicator LED near the charging port does not light up (it is normally orange while charging). I'm afraid that I am having the same issue that many other Spectre x360 customers have had - a fried motherboard. It seems to be related to a burnt out capacitor on the board. Is HP aware of this issue? I have included links to other people with the same issue at the bottom of this post. I will be removing the back cover to look for a burn mark on the board.

I used to swear by HP laptops and I have recommended the Spectre to more people than I can remember... I would hope that HP resolves this known issue even though my laptop is out of the warranty period now.

Sorry to hear that. Due to the pandemic and lockdown, it may takes longer time to reply you back, you can still try your luck by calling HP or simply issue a complaint. Thank you for your patience.

Thank you for introducing me to KUMAR0307 to resolve this but I am having an issue reaching out - the "Send A Message" does not appear in the right corner?  Your assistance is much appreciated.
