HP Stream Laptop PC

So awhile ago, like a couple weeks, I spilled my coffee on my laptops keyboard. It only spilled on the left side of my laptop but it also spilled on my power button. I immediaetly flipped my laptop upside down to drain out as much of the liquid as possible and wiped away the rest of the liquid left.

After that my laptop was showing a white screen for not even a second and it would continue to flash at least every 30 seconds to a minute. 

 

I left it alone while it was on the charger and the screen was still flashing white. However the light that would show green next to charging hole wasn't turning on and the power light that would falsh when I turn my computer on wasn't flashing either. But after a day or two the white falshing on my laptop screen stopped completely.

 

I had to leave my house for a week and I left my laptop at home. When I came back home apparently it wasn't charging, which was a mistake on my part, so I plugged the charger in and nothing happened to the laptop, it just stayed black and no lights came on or flashed.

At this point I don't know what to do. I looked at the back and it says warranty 1y1y0y but online it says that my laptop was sold with no warranty if that helps. I also can't tell what operating system it is since I can't turn the laptop on to check . But I did just get this laptop in December if that helps as well .

 

Another thing is that when i open my computer it has a strong smell on the left and right bottom corners of my keyboard area. It smells almost like kid paint or like wires, I honeatly don't know how to describe it.

As @banhien pointed out, the warranty doesn't cover this kind of damage, so you'll have to pay for whatever repairs are needed -- and they could be extensive!

However ... it's most likely that SOME damage was done, regardless of how quickly you turned off the laptop and what you did afterward. The key problems are only the surface and almost certainly, more damage was done than that.

Sorry, warranty won't cover water (in this case coffee) damages UNLESS you paid up front accidental damages option (similar to insurance) therefore warranty coould be out of question.

 

Liquid and electronics parts won't live together and after that long, damages are unpredictable. All you can do now: visit a good repairer and hope he/she can do something to help you.
