Hi, I try to help my sister. Her HP 15-r059no notebook starts, but it takes a looooong time before the taskbar show up. And it's reacting very slow on the first command...just to start it I mean.

Later it simply stops.

I am actually trying to use the first advice on this page: https://no.athowto.com/fix-taskbar-not-working-windows-10 but I do not get throug since I can not find any tasks running on the taskbar...

Anyone has a solution?

( Equally applicable to notebooks, because it's all about the hard drive )

 

What is the result of "SMART Short Self-Test: Runs a short self-test on the hard drive." ?

Thank you, I'll see if I wil use this later. Just now I have taken the HDD out of the notebook and is running tests on it from my own pc. I stopped her notebook during the boot and ran some tests from there. It managed not to test the HDD through. So I took it out. But I'll sure be using your suggestion if what I am doing now does not get me any answers. 🙂

you should run HP Diagnostics (UEFI) on the notebook, so you can get a clear view what's wrong.
