@rcandsonsrepair, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Pavilion Notebook – Stuck in Preparing Automatic Repair Loop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I’m really sorry to hear your HP Pavilion is stuck in that frustrating “Preparing Automatic Repair” loop — I know how unsettling it can be to stare at that message, hoping it’ll pass but it never does. Let’s try to bring it back to life together!
Here’s what you can try first:
🔹 Hard Reset
Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds until the laptop completely shuts down. Now power it on again. Sometimes, this simple step works wonders.
🔹 Boot into Recovery Mode
Turn the notebook off.
Power it on and immediately start tapping the F11 key repeatedly.
This should bring up HP Recovery Environment. From here, you can try System Restore or Startup Repair.
🔹 If that doesn’t work
Let me know if you're seeing a blue screen or a spinning circle — every detail helps us guide you better.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

I have the same problem, but I have tried ALL suggestions regards the BIOS, hard reset, system recovery... I get stuck on preparing auto repair every time and then if it does go beyond that point its to confirm BIOS not found. I'm then taken back to the HP logo and the spinning wheel of doom!!
Went to bed on Friday with it working fine, woke up yesterday and cant get past the start up logo..
Beyond frustrated as I have lots of work to get done.
PLEASE HELP!!
