Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, a few days ago i reinstalled windows and when i checked official driver page there was a new bios version (F91) for my laptop.

I downloaded the driver, i ran the .exe file and choose "update the system BIOS on this device" option.

The update went completely fine, the laptop restarted and booted as usual.

The problem occured when i tried to shut down or sleep the laptop. The screen goes off but the laptop and the keyboard won't shut off, they are still powered.

I can't do anything, it won't wake up/power up when i press the power button. The only way to start the laptop is to disconnect the battery and the charger and to recconect them and press the power button.

I tried to restore/reset BIOS by pressing Win Key + B Key + Power Button but when the laptop starts its giving me the error

" The following product information programmed into the sustem board is missing or invalid

System Board (00A) - System Board CT Number"

And another thing is that in Device Manager tab, Trusted Platform Module 2.0 has a yellow warning sign with the error

"This device cannot start. (Code 10)

A protocol error was detected between the driver and the device."

I tried to downgrade bios but it says that there is no singed bios file.

All other things are working perfectly after BIOS update

Any advices  ?

Hello @Kyddyngs

I suspect that for some reason the BIOS update has failed which cause it to not update TPM firmware and to loose the information. You will need to reach to HP Support or to a local HP authorized service center to have this fixed.

Hope this helps. Let me know if any issues.

Hi, thank you for your answer.

Unfortunately my laptop is out of warranty and the service in my country have some problems due to Covid-19 and they can't help me right now.

If anybody else have a "diy" solution,  i'm open to suggestions.

Thanks.
