Intersting to note that attempts to update the display drivers is met with this message:
Drivers downloaded from HP are .exe files. Is there a way to add them manually via the device manager?
Thank you for your feedback/input.
All the best!

Ok,
This is another issue - we seem to have the Windows issue resolved and Windows 7 has been installed.
With regards to the drivers and other display issues - all are related to the drivers
Please, visint >> https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-dv6-6100-entertainment-notebook-pc-seri...
Select your OS - Windows - Windows 7 - 32 bit or 64 bit
As you can see all these are devided into 2 sections -> Intel and AMD/ATI
Install them in this order
1st. Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver
(restart the PC)
and
2nd. AMD/Intel Switchable High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver \
or AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver (3000)
or AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver (2000) only
(restart the PC)
Note that you have 2 different versions of the driver for Intel
and 3 different versions of the driver for AMD
Once you install Intel and if it works fine, proceed with the AMD one.
Try with different versions so that you find what works for you. Try newest released first, then older ones.
Hope this helps.

Thank you once again for your help.
Windows booting issue is resolved and I'm happy to close this thread and mark is resolve, but the issue of Windows not booting all started after trying to update my display drivers.
When trying to install the display drivers I keep getting this error:

Could you post the hardware device IDs for your graphic card adapters - take them from the Device Manager - here is how >> https://www.wikihow.com/Find-Hardware-ID

NOTE: info you requested is at the bottom of my rant 😉
Hey! Hope you're doing great. As always I appreciate you keeping up with me.
A guy walks into a local computer repair store... True story!
Yesterday I finally had enough and so I took my laptop into a computer repair store. After 2 hours with heads down trying to figure out this issue they look up at me and say "Can we keep your laptop for while to investigate this further?" Ouch. They were stumped. Is it a driver issue? Is it a graphics card problem? They couldn't tell after 2 hours.
And so because I work daily on this machine I couldn't leave it over night in hopes they might figure it out at some point. I tipped the young fellow, thanked them for having a look and left.
When I got home they'd done so many changes and updates and restores and re-configurations that I couldn't even get Windows to boot once again! Only in safe mode would it boot and still it would hang on classpnp.sys like it has in the past.
So I decided once again to re-install windows following your instructions, but this time I choose to install only the required updates and not all the suggested updates. I noticed that Windows offers a slew of the required drivers that are needed for my laptop, but before I let Windows install them I rather try installing the ones from HP first.
I'm taking it one step at a time and creating system restores as I go along.
Long story short... At some point I managed to get a 2nd monitor to flicker (for a brief moment) with the extended dsktop on it! But then Windows crashed and wouldn't boot again. Had to perform a system restore to get up and running.
Here's the info you requested:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116&SUBSYS_3388103C&REV_09
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116&SUBSYS_3388103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116&CC_030000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0116&CC_0300
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6740&SUBSYS_3388103C&REV_00
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6740&SUBSYS_3388103C
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6740&CC_030000
PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6740&CC_0300
Without installing any display driver device manager says I have 2 Standard VGA Graphics adapter installed by default. If I try to install the driver for my Radeon card the computer won't boot. And when I try to install the display driver from HP I get the error message I mentioned above.
Still digging with fingers crossed with hopes to resolve this.
Any thoughts?
Cheers!

Hi,
Any chance this could be hardware related and not driver related?
Anyway to confirm this without opening up the laptop?
Here's what GPU-Z is showing me.
Is it normal to see N/A in some of the fields?
Any thoughts?
Thank you! 🙂

Thank you for your detailed reply.
Let's try again with some difference:
DOWNLOAD
Please, visit >> https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-dv6-6100-entertainment-notebook-pc-seri...
Select your OS - Windows - Windows 7 - 32 bit or 64 bit
As you can see all these are devided into 2 sections -> Intel and AMD/ATI
Download them in this order
1st. Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver
and
2nd. AMD/Intel Switchable High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver
Download the latest versions
IMPORTANT
1. Install the Intel driver and restart . If you manage to install it - fine, proceed.
If you can't install it, please download this Intel utility >> https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/detect.html
>> https://downloadcenter.intel.com/
to automatically install/update your Intel driver.
2. AMD driver. Download the packege and save it on your desktop.
Configure it to install it in compatibility mode for Windows 7.
Right-click the .exe file and click on Properties. Go to the Compatibility tab and then select to run it in Windows 7 mode. Once that is done select Apply/OK. Try to run it this way and let me know if it will run and install successfully.
Hope this helps !

Hi friend,
It took a week but we did it. Got the 3 screens back!
Ta-Da!!!
The display driver suggested by Windows update and from "driver finder software" all pointed to the same Radeon driver, but when installed my laptop wouldn't boot.
And ironically I didn't have any luck with the display drivers suggested from HP. Even with the right configuration (Windows 7 64-bit) HP was giving me display drivers which when I tried to install said it was a 32-bit version. Not sure if that's a big issue, but for a non techie guy like I found it strange. See what I mean here https://cl.ly/oz0j
That said I didn't get the chance to test out your last suggestion, cause this graphic's driver from Intel did the trick: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24971/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-64-bit
... but I will be sure to test it if/when I run into a similar issue.
Now my laptop is running as good if not better than when I purchased it. No more bloatware 😉 and I'm now getting 850 mb downloads from my 1 gig internet when I could only average 350 mb before. And the SLEEP function is back. For some reason it had gone missing these last couple years. I could only hibernate, shut down or restart. So needless to say I'm quite happy with how it all turned out.
Lesson learned: Used Windows Backup and Restore program and saved an IMAGE of my C drive over to my external hard drive. And I created a backup of my driver folder cause I now know the value of having all the right drivers saved somewhere that's easily accessible.
Live and learn 🙂
Super appreciate the helping hand and guidance throughout the crazy week.
Here's to a great 2018 to you and yours!
