Hi,

I started a system recovery but the process failed to complete. 

An error message was returned "the system cannot find the drive specified"

I did a system fast test and the Hard Drive Short DST check failed (Failure ID: U36J1Q-93JCSM-MFPURG-60WT03).

How may I resolve this issue

OS is windows 10 32-bit

Based on the information you provided, the Hard Drive Short DST failure with Failure ID U36J1Q-93JCSM-MFPURG-60WT03 clearly indicates a physical hard drive failure. When this test fails, it means the drive is no longer functioning reliably, which is why the system recovery is unable to find the drive and complete successfully. Unfortunately, this is not a software or Windows issue and cannot be resolved through troubleshooting or reinstallation.
 

As this HP Pavilion 15-cc057cl is well beyond the factory warranty period, the available resolution would be a hardware replacement.
 

Recommended next steps:

  • The internal hard drive will need to be replaced.
  • You can visit or contact the nearest HP Authorized Service Center, where the technicians can:
    • Replace the failed hard drive (or upgrade to an SSD, if you choose)
    • Reinstall the operating system
