Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Im trying to update my operating system to Windows 11 but says that i miss TMP 2.0. My pc is quite new and is compatible with the TMP, but going to tmp.msc window, there isn't anything shown. I tried updating the BIOS' firmware and I checked if the TMP is active. It isn't hidden and is turned on but still i can't see it anywhere. So can someone help me? Thank you

Hi, @LoreComa

WAWood is 100% correct regarding both statements.

Your notebook's model series is one of those that have a fTPM (Firmware based) 2.0 security device.

See the service manual, chapter 1, page 3 for the TPM specification.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP Pavilion Gaming 15 Laptop PC

For some reason, W11 does not recognize that type of device as a TPM 2.0 device, and until Microsoft fixes that problem there is nothing you can do.

Your PC meets all of the other requirements to get the upgrade to W11 except for that problem.

If you are interested, I can give you two ways to bypass the W11 hardware checks so you can upgrade to W11, as well as a way to go back to W10 if necessary, after the default 'Go back to W10' period expires.

@LoreComa

You keep repeating "TMP" -- but I'm assuming you mean "TPM", right?

And unfortunately, no, there is nothing we can do for you.  While some of the firmware TPM configurations are acceptable to Microsoft, not ALL are -- and if yours is one of the latter, there is nothing we or you can do to change that.

So, i should wait for Windows to fix this problem or i can bypass it; at the moment i prefer staying in win 10 and wait for the fix. Thank you so much for your answer

You're very welcome.

That's up to you.

If you decide you don't want to wait for Microsoft to address the problem, let me know, and I will post the two easy ways you can bypass the W11 hardware checks.
