HP Pavilion Notebook

Hi,

It has been few weeks since my notebook stopped charging properly. I explain my self better: one day I plugged in the charger while the computer was still turned off and it started charging, but as soon as I turned it on, it stopped charging. From that moment on the computer stopped charging while turned on and started charging only when turned off or in standby mode. What can have happened? Is there anything I can do, or do I need to take the computer to the assistance? Moreover, if I need to take it to the assistance can anyone explain me how can I discover where the nearer centre is?
