The cooling fan makes loud noise

Hi. I have had my computer for two years now and it works very well. But within the last couple of months the cooling fan has started to be almost all the time.  Especially when the charger is plugged in. I have tried my way through power management and setting and nothing seems to help. I am only on Google Chrome, Spotify, Word documents etc. which means I am not running anything too complicated for the computer and it did not make any noise for about 1 ½ years. What do I do?

Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Install updates using HP Support Assistant

1. In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant. 
2. Check for updates. 
3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.  

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

I recommend you update the BIOS from this link, enter your Product number or name.

If the issue persists, run a hardware test

1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
3. Perform System Test > Extensive test. Share the result on your next post.
