Last night when I was using my computer for some web browsing it crashed on me. When I tried to restart it I got the following message.

"the operating system did not shutdown cleanly.
Reconstructing cache Metadata.
Please do not interrupt this process."

This message stays on the screen for only a second or so and then the screen goes black and the computer shuts back off. The computer will not do anything else but this when I try and turn it off. I attempted to do the power drain/reset by holding the power down for 20 seconds with it unplugged then plugging it back in and turning it on. This did not change anything. In addition I tried to get into BIOS with ESC, F10, F2, and F1 keys none of which got me to bios. The screen with the message appears for a second and then the computer turns back off.

Is my computer just done for or is there a way to fix this?

Thank you!

I had someone from Geek squad tell me that the operating system is bad? Googling like crazy to see how to fix this issue.  Is it just installing new Windows software?!? I dunno.
