Hi, @Rajesh_Vaishnav

Your PC either has Windows 8.1, or Windows 8.1 Single Language.

Here is how you can install W8.1 for free...

Install W8.1 by creating the Microsoft installation media, using another Windows PC, if yours is not working...You want W8.1 64 bit.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8ISO

Only if you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, use this generic key.

This is the generic key for W8.1 'standard.'

334NH-RXG76-64THK-C7CKG-D3VPT

If you had to enter the generic key, manually change the generic product key to the W8.1 'standard' key in your PC's BIOS in the PC settings menu.

After you get W8.1 installed, and you had to manually enter the W8.1 generic product key, you will need to run the free utility I zipped up and attached below, that will show you show the W8.1 product key in your PC's BIOS.

I have also zipped up and attached below, the Microsoft tool which hopefully will transfer the ISO file to a DVD or usb flash drive so it is bootable.

Then you can install the available drivers and software from your PC's support page.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-Notebook-PC-series/6875200/model/7132770

If the showkey plus utility shows a W8.1 Single Language product key, then you will have to go back and download the W8.1 SIngle Language ISO file so the W8.1 Single Language product key will activate the installation.

If you are asked to enter a key for the W8.1 Single Language installation, use this generic key...

@Rajesh_Vaishnav

According to the HP product page for this model, it came with Windows 8.1 64-bit preinstalled.

The product key is encrypted into the UEFI firmware of the motherboard, and since HP keeps no records of those, we can not provide you with the key.

However, if you purchase HP Recovery Media, that will restore your PC to its original state and will extract the key from the firmware -- so you don't need to enter it manually.

HP Recovery Media is a set of DVDs and a CD, or USB stick, that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, settings, and applications, reinstall the original OS, drivers, and some HP Utilities.

In some cases, you may be able to order a USB stick instead of disks. You have to order these from HP; they can not be downloaded.

You can look online for Recovery Media starting with the linked paged: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, input your Product name or number. On your Software and Drivers Download page, select your Operating System and and Version. Click "Update".

If HP Recovery Media is available for your machine, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for Order Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click the "+" symbol to expand that entry and click on Order Media for details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

NOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while!

If you have trouble finding a phone number, then try: 1 (650) 857-1501.

If HP no longer provides Recovery Media for your model, another site you can check is: http://www.computersurgeons.com

When you get the media, if it is a USB stick, insert it into your PC, pressing F9 to get a Boot menu, then select the External USB Hard Drive to boot from it.

You're very welcome.

Now that you know what W8.1 version you have, if you ever have to reinstall W8.1, just use the single language installation file and it should not ask for a product key.

With W8.1 you usually know if you are installing the right version if you are not asked to enter a product key during the installation.

Since no W8 OEM ISO files exist you can use the above method for PC's that came with a W8 key in the BIOS as well, but you will always need to enter a generic W8.1 key, since there is a W8 product key in the BIOS.

Then you change the W8.1 generic key for the W8 OEM product key in the BIOS, and you are good to go, since the upgrade from W8 to W8.1 is free.
