I'm hearing three beeps every three minutes -- no error message. Any idea where this is coming from and what I should do to fix it?

Welcome to HP Support Forums. 🙂 I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you have an HP ENVY dv7t-7300 laptop and every three beeps there are three beeps. Not to worry, I'll do my best to help.

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • Did any hardware changes take place on the laptop after which this issue may have started?
  • Is the laptop booting into Windows or not?
  • Have you restarted the laptop and checked?

Meanwhile, I recommend you to perform the following steps to isolate the issue and arrive at a fix:

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Remove the battery out.
  • Disconnected AC adapter from the laptop.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and plug the AC adapter.
  • Power ON the laptop.

If the laptop continues to beep, then please perform the steps as described in this link.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know the results. All the best! 🙂

Thanks for the response. I cleaned out the dust in my laptop with compressed air, and that seemed to stop the beeping.
