HP 15-d038dx - laptop

My small dog umped on my laptop and the screen display went crazy. Very fuzzy and colors everywhere and it would go crazier when I scrolled. I hooked it up to secondary display and it was fine, letting me know it was 100% the laptop screen.

I took it apart and adjusted the screen plug and put it back together. I assume it worked because now I can very clearly see the new issue! Upon starting the computer I am greeted with "Boot Device Not Found

Please install an operating system on your hard disk. Hard Disk (3F0)" I do a Hard Drive check and it says " SMART check: Not installed, Long DST: Not installed"

I haven't taken it apart again yet, but I'm assuming I just knocked something loose? There are missing screws on this old thing, maybe I left the wrong hole without a screw? I understand this laptop is old and the basic advice will be to replace it but financially it is my last hope.

@Bingobongo

You need to open it again.

In my older HP laptop, the drive is accessible behind a removable panel and is attached with four screws.  It has an additional four screws that hold it to the drive bracket.

What yours sounds like is a loose drive cable, so I would check that first.
