I am unable to locate the drivers for my touchpad for the Windows version 24H2 on the hp website. I found other drivers online but they keep crashing. My touchpad is working but there is no official driver from hp it. Please update the corresponding driver for the same.

Hi @Skyline9804

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It looks like HP hasn’t officially released a touchpad driver for Windows 24H2 yet. Others have reported similar issues when trying to install drivers from HP’s site, often encountering compatibility errors.

Since your touchpad is working but lacks an official driver, here are a few things you can try:

Check Windows Update:

  • Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for optional driver updates.
  • Sometimes, Windows provides generic drivers that work better than third-party ones.

Use Device Manager to Install a Generic Driver:

  • Open Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager).
  • Expand Human Interface Devices or Mice and other pointing devices.
  • Right-click on the touchpad device and select Update driver > Search automatically.

Try an Older HP Driver:

  • Some users have had success installing a Windows 11 22H2 driver instead.
  • You can find HP’s available drivers here.

Rollback to a Previous Driver:

  • In Device Manager, right-click the touchpad device and select Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver (if available).

Let me know if you need help testing any of these solutions!

I have tried all the methods as were mentioned above. But the issue remains unsolved. Just to clarify, the hardware part of my touchpad is working, as it works with other unofficial drivers which keep crashing. Since, the driver crashes, the touchpad stops working and I have to use external USB mouse to work. In the Device Manager as well the driver disappears and when I try to update it, I get the response that it has already been installed. But the touchpad does not work.
