upgrade TPM 1.4 to 2.0 to install Windows 11

Hi:

See the guidance at the link below for how to upgrade the TPM 1.2 security chip to version 2.0.

HP Desktops, Notebooks, and Workstations - HP TPM Configuration Utility With Windows 10 Anniversary ...

But even if you upgrade the TPM security device to version 2.0, the notebook still won't meet Microsoft's minimum W11 processor requirements.

Intel processors need to be a minimum of an Intel 8th gen core processor and the 650 G2 cannot support any motherboards with Intel 8th gen core processors.

So, you can try to update the TPM 1.2 firmware to 2.0, or you can just skip that step since it is not going to solve anything (other than to give you TPM 2.0), and if you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2.

You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.
