There is a PDF with information about the HP Elitebook 840 G5. And in a section showing the connections, it says that there is a USB 3.1 gen 1 Charging Port connection. I would like to know what this term "Charging" means.

I'm typing on an HP 840 G5 right now. Its manual is on my screen, page 9 says that USB 3.1 port is use to Connects a USB device, provides high-speed data transfer, and even when the computer is off, charges most products such as a cell phone, camera, activity tracker, or smartwatch.
Machine has USB-C port which is fully compatible with the HP USB-C G5 (5TW10AA) dock. You can use SINGLE cable set up as mine.
