Hi:

If your notebook's BIOS got corrupted, it may have damaged or erased the embedded W10 product key in the BIOS.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to install the free Showkey Plus app from the Microsoft Store and see if it reports the W10 OEM product key that is supposed to be in the BIOS.

ShowKeyPlus - Microsoft Apps

You should be able to use that key to activate Windows.

I no not know what the problem is with the BIOS, usually when corrupted the system is not recoverable. You did good to get it back running

Possibly you downloaded windows PRO and your license was for home.   If not then

You can try two things (try 2 first)

1 The first possibility ------

is to get a 32gb flash drive and restore both of your laptops to factor release.  The original windows 10 with all the bloatware but it will have all the correct drivers.  Do not erase the USB that has your windows 10 as it is needed.

Go here  https://d34z73bbtpzgej.cloudfront.net/ and put in

2NV94UA#ABA and restore both of your systems.

After the factor restore, connect to the internet and enter "activate" into the windows search tab and make sure your are activated.  Disable Wi-Fi  and use your download that didnt work. Put it in the laptop and run "setup:".  Chose the update option, not the install option.

2 -  Try to activate  as follows ---

From the Windows "store" get showkeyplus and run it. Make a note of the key and use the key to activate windows.

[edit] Try what @Paul_Tikkanen  said first.  When you run that app it should tell if you are licensed for home or pro.
