I'm attempting to update the BIOS on my HP Elite x2 G3, but I'm encountering two persistent issues:

Using HP Support Assistant:
The update appears to proceed correctly on the OS side and prompts me to reboot. However, instead of launching the BIOS update process after restarting, the system simply reboots into Windows as normal — no BIOS update occurs.

Using USB Recovery Media:
When I try updating via a bootable USB drive, the system enters a USB-C firmware update loop. It repeatedly attempts the same firmware update without making any progress or proceeding to the actual BIOS update.

Additionally, when I attempt to use the "Update System and Supported Device Firmware" option from within the BIOS, the system just reboots with no further action.

My current BIOS version is: 01.29.01

I'd appreciate any help resolving this, and any guidance on what options are available to complete the BIOS update successfully. Thank you!
