HP Notebook - 15-da0087cl.
After windows update, I started getting an error, overrun of stacked based buffer in the login. So I could get into my laptop. I used the f11 to go to command mode where I checked hard drive etc. No errors. I than tried to go back to a previous version of windows etc but they didn't work either.
Last resort was the factory reset. Now that appears to be stuck and not proceeding, it's been about 7 hours.

Forgot to say , there are 2 bars one shows its processing, the other shows how far the install is. The top one was moving just fine while the bottom slowly progressed. They both are stuck around the 60 percent part for the last 3 us hours.

Hi @Bjo114
Welcome to the HP Support Community. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Do not worry, we are here to help you with it.
Stack-based buffer overrun (or stack-based buffer overflow) is a kind of bug indicating that a program writes more data to a buffer located on the stack than that is actually allocated for the buffer. It is a general programming malfunction. A buffer overrun has been detected that has corrupted the program's internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.
I would suggest you please end the session using the Esc or power button. Once done, repeat the steps and try to install the fresh Operating System. Here is a link that will help.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
