Thanks AbuEdik!!! I agree with you that the Windows 10 version of Client Security is the solution. I have HP 8540p with VFS451 fingerprint scanner. I was unable to find a WBF (Windows Biometric Framework) driver for VFS451 and I believe there is none yet. Obviously the HP Client Security works with pre-WBF biometric devices but, until the latest version, HP Client Security would not work with Windows 10 (in my case). The driver packages SP66915 & SP71833 did not help and the fingerprint reader stayed the same version: 2.3 (July 2013). However, after installing the SP74101 and two reboots, it works - with the old non-WBF driver! Here is the link once again:

HP Client Security Manager

Type:     Software - Security
Version:     8.3.17.2042 Rev.A(3 Dec 2015)
Operating System(s):  Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
File name:     sp74101.exe (147 MB)

I believe this would work for all HP notebooks with VFS451 scanner.

Well, this was a tough one and I am glad it is solved. Did I say: thanks AbuEdik? 🙂

My finger.print recognition worked when I switched regreatfully  from Win 7 to this garbage Win 10, but a week ago a glitch that knocked out my ability to make my RIGHT Touchpad button as the Primary also knocked out my ability to sign on to my computer with my right index fingerprint.  I tried some of your posted links to correct the situation, but I'm being told they aren't working or have moved.

AbuEdik First what is , "Digitalpersona"? A program or a Driver? Second How do I get rid of it? Third where is it?

If it isn't one problem it's another, I get all the way to being able to enroll my index finger fingerprint and it states on the page THAT THE FINGERPRINT READER ISN'T INSTALLED OR CONNECTED, BUT DOESN'T SHOW OR EXPLAIN HOW TO CONNECT IT!!!!

HP Recommended

Go to device manager, biometric devices to see if your device appears there.  If it does, then try to update the driver.

If not, Google your laptop model and try to find a solution to get your fingerprint device to install.

install the driver, reboot and then try to register your fingerprint again.
