Can someone please tell me where the CMOS battery is on this thing? The laptop won't power on at all (after less than 1 year of limited use). Thanks!

Hello colormeconfused,
We can provide you with an accurate answer if you provide us with a specific model/product number. (Please do not post serial numbers on the HP Support Forum)
Information on how to find a laptop's model/product number is detailed in this HP document.
Awaiting your response,
Eddy

Hello colormeconfused,
I regret to inform you that this computer does not seem to have a discrete CMOS battery/RTC. I have 3 pieces of proof:
- I wasn't able to find it in the computer's Maintenance and Service Guide
- Another user with a similar model has an extensive post regarding this: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Envy-x360-battery-short-and-CM...
- I wasn't able to find any CMOS battery part number associated with this model in the HP PartSurfer: http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?type=PROD&SearchText=M1W63UA
I do want to confirm if you have tried a power reset:
Remove all external peripherals. Since the battery is non-removable, just keep it in. Hold down the power button for at least 30 seconds and plug in the AC adapter > turn on.
Does the laptop turn on but does not show anything or does it have no signs of life (no light from charging LED indicator after plugging in power)?
In this case, I think the computer relies on the main battery. Please use pages 31-32 located on the Maintenance and Service Guide posted above to remove the battery and reinsert it. If that doesn't work and the computer has absolutely no sign of life, the battery/motherboard is dead and you can receive support options from HP (since you are under warranty).
Hope this helps,
Eddy
