I was just wanting to know the proper way to set up my uefi boot order

Hi:

 

The Windows boot manager automatically assigns the drive with the operating system on it to boot first.

 

If you want to boot from a different device such as a USB flash drive, you use the ESC+F9 option to access the one-time boot options menu.

 

There is no need for you to make any changes to the default boot order settings in the BIOS.
