When trying to restore the BIOS on my laptop dv6-2180us it asks what operating system I have. Origional was Window 7 pro but upgraded to Windows 10 home at the begging of last year. But their is no Window 10 listed for my laptop only 7 or 8.1
Do I use the Window 7 as the origional or the 8.1 as there is no 10 listed?
Computer will not boot up at all, code of 2 light tells me it is the BIOS. Will try to make a external storage drive but need to know which operating systen to use 7 or 8.1.

There is no specific BIOS for Windows 8,8.1 or 10 available at the download section of the support portal for your notebook.
Try the Windows 7 version that is available. Use a compression utility like 7-Zip to extract the contents of the sp47531 file and then extract the contents of the Winflash file. The actual BIOS ROM file is the 3635F13.FD. Put it at the root of an FAT32 formatted USB thumb drive and press the power button of the notebook. This may recover your corrupt BIOS.
