Where do i find my Windows product key?

i got a HP Notebook - 14-bs034tx, recently the hard disk crashed already? but i cannot find windows 10 product key ?

Thank you for posting in the HP Support Community.

The Windows key is embedded into your BIOS/UEFI. This is as per Microsoft requirement and has been like that in the past years >> http://www.cnet.com/news/windows-8-moves-to-bios-based-product-keys/

You may be able to exact it once you load Windows into your new Windows installation on your new hard disk drive by using a tool like ProduKey.

Download ProduKey from Nirsoft >> http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html

x86 Windows >> http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/produkey.zip

x64 Windows >> http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/produkey-x64.zip

Extract the archive and run the program.

It will open and show you the available keys it detects. Does it detect your BIOS and Windows key(s) ? Does it says Windows version ?  Take a picture of the codes and write them down. Do not post them here, just keep them for yourself.

Note !! Windows 10 introduced new ways of activation such as Digital Entitlement. Your product key may be automatically extracted or your PC may be online-activated with the so called Digital Entitlement if you use the same hardware.
