HP 15-BS145TU, 15-BS576TX have newer Realtek RTL8723DE wireless-bluetooth module.

1. Most of the recent Linux x86_64 bit distros will support this laptop, but preferably Ubuntu or Fedora for laptop optimizations.

2. This model needs RTL8723DE driver module compiled for the kernel. You can use dkms or make. Steps are explained here (needs some knowledge of terminal and commands):

3. Full HD is supported, Fractional scaling works with latest Gnome shell 3.28.x version.

Hi

I dont know.

HP systems are usually good platforms for Linux, so a Live Distro should answer some of your questions.

Take a step forward and then ask again.

That little bit of uncertainty in "usually" doesn't help when making a buying decision. Unfortunately, there's no facility to try a Live Distro before buying it online.

Hi

Even if I did know something I wouldn't tell you if you intended using that as a buying criteria, which you only feel is relevant to mention in your second post.

I happen to know lots of Linux driver's work. But if you don't know or won't say which distribution you would install how is anyone going to give pointed answers.

Hi, No preference for a Distro. Any distro/set of drivers that is known to work well on this newly released laptop would be just fine.

There are many flavors of Linux of which you can download an ISO free and make your own bootable dvd or usb flash drive. Running a Live edition is the best and most relaible way to find out what works best with your laptop.

I was part of a discussion just recently in which Linux Mint has been used and recommended by a member who experiments with Linux.
