I recently purchased the X360 14 Chromebook which is behind on the current level of Chrome OS releases, however, it keeps telling me it is up to date. With previous CB's I've always had success doing the updates when released. How with my new HP it won't update. I need to understand why the update request isn't working.

@Solsticemanpa
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Firstly, Let's check for updates: (Chromebook Answer)
- Turn on your Chromebook.
- Connect your Chromebook to Wi-Fi.
- At the bottom right, select the time.
- Select Settings.
- Select Menu. About Chrome OS.
- Under "Google Chrome OS," you'll see which version of the Chrome operating system your Chromebook is using.
- Select Check for Updates.
- If your Chromebook finds a software update, it will start to download automatically.
Next: Test your Chromebook after each step to see if the problem is fixed.
- Turn off your Chromebook, then turn it back on.
- If you're having trouble using your phone's or Chromebook's mobile data to update your system, disconnect from the phone or mobile data. Connect to Wi-Fi or Ethernet instead.
- If you’re having trouble connecting your Chromebook to the internet, learn how to fix connection problems.
- Reset your Chromebook.
- Recover your Chromebook.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

This is a new HP CB. I am an experienced CB user and have executed the update check you requested. Is it possible that with CB's HP must approve the update in the stable channel after it is released? I have very little time to return this if it is not working correctly or won't accept updates.

Work on it as per your convenience and keep me posted on the results.
I would request you to check for an update on a regular base. However, the system will send notification if any updates are available.
