Hello,
Recently i bought a new HP laptop. I'd like to upgrade my windows license to Windows 10 Pro because i need to have Bitlocker installed on my laptop, and that only comes with the pro version of Windows.
I already bought an OEM-Windows 10 pro license from a third-party seller and i'd like to activate it on my Pavilion 15-cs2975nd. I am wondering what happens to my warranty if i do this upgrade, i'd assume the laptop keeps its warranty since the warranty covers hardware etc. but i just want to be sure.
Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi:
We can't officially answer warranty questions since we don't work for or represent HP, but in essence you are correct.
Installing W10 Pro will void the software warranty, but not the hardware warranty.
Please note that you cannot clean install W10 Pro. If you try, you will only get W10 Home because that is the product key in the BIOS.
You have to upgrade to W10 Pro by following the guidance at the link below.
