Showkeyplus shows that I have Win 10.  Regardless I went to Microsoft Store to upgrade  to Win 10 Pro and Pro installed.  Win 10 Pro was activated with a  digital license linked to my Microsoft account.

Thanks,  Issue solved.

Laptop came with Win10 Pro HP EOM -- you probably installed Win10 home from a download from Microsoft, right.

What I would suggest is that you use this link to download and recreate the Win10 install media and when the tool opens the options windows, specifically select wWin10 Pro: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

If that does not work, then type winver into the search area to get the specific version you are running, report that back here, and I'll see if you can use the UUPDUMP alternative approach to get an ISO of that version from Microsoft -- because using that, you can select ONLY Win10 Pro.

I really do not want to done another clean install,  The site you provided, which is the one I used,  did not give me an option to make an ISO using  win 10 pro.  My version of windows is win 10 build  1909.  Can HP  provide the Windows pass-code for my  laptop so that  I can do a simple upgrade?

If you're not willing to do a clean-install, then you're probably stuck with what you have.

IF you did not use HP OEM media to reinstall Win10, HP will see no obligation to fix that for you.

And, they will not provide any passcode or any other code to upgrade from Home to Pro.

The laptop came with Win 10 Pro installed when purchased.  Where does HP store the pass-code key? The computer did not came with a Win installation disc or a pass-code key.  If I  provide the serial number of the laptop, I do not understand  why HP cannot provide the pass-code  for Win 10 Pro.

OK, your use of "pass-code" confused me because what you actually need is the "product key".

With PCs running Win8 or newer, that key is embedded into the firmware of the motherboard.

You can retrieve it by downloading and running this utility:  https://www.tenforums.com/software-apps/2577-showkeyplus.html

Good Luck
